Dear competitors and organisers,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the invitation. I am really looking forward to meeting you all and to being part of the DRC Final.
Retrievers have been an important part of my life since 1990, and during these years I have had the pleasure of training and competing with both Flatcoats and Labradors in Working Tests and Field Trials. I have also had the privilege of representing Norway at several prestigious international events, including the Coupe d’Europe, the Skinners World Cup in the UK, and the International Working Test.
As a handler and trainer, I have made up several Flatcoats and Labradors to Norwegian working titles. In recent years, I have had the great pleasure of bringing on two Labrador bitches to international field trial titles:
INT FTCH SE FTCH Gunsight’s Firecrest and INT FTCH SE FTCH Gunsight’s Hathersage.
The two girls have given me many memorable moments and have achieved strong results at the highest level. Together, they have won the Nordic, Swedish and Italian Field Trial Championships, and have also been runners-up in both the Nordic and Swedish Field Trial Championships during the last five years. Gunsight’s Firecrest also placed 4th at the European Retriever Championship in 2023 and won three CACITs in one calendar year.
In addition to competing, judging has become an important and rewarding part of the retriever world. I was authorised as a National WT and cold game test judge in 1999, and later became an international FCI judge. In 2018, I successfully completed and passed the UK Kennel Club J Regulation training programme.
Throughout my judging career, I have had the pleasure of judging Field Trials, Working Tests and championships in numerous Nordic and European countries. I have also had the honour of judging the Coupe d’Europe in Sweden in 2015 and the International Working Test in the Netherlands in 2019.
I always look forward to seeing your dogs, dedicated handlers and the special atmosphere that comes with these events.
